Multi Tables in one report

Apr 13, 2013 at 12:39 PM
Can I create a report which contains different tables.

eg the reports first page is a summary report and the next pages contain full details.
Its it also possible to have a header pages (first page) and a footer page (last page) with the details of a table between these pages.

If those tables have different data sources, create separate PDF reports and then merge them as a single report.
I have prepared a sample to show this concept here:

I would like the ability to add other textual information into the report, and use your PDFReport output from a table or datasource to be merged inline.

ie. Create a normal PDF though the use of iTextSharp, and then merge your process into this or vis versa.

Something like:
  1. Section One Heading
This report does such and such, and relates to the generated output as follows:
now imbed PdfReport Table output here,
  1. Section two
Imbed another PdfReport Table output here

and have all of this with a common header and footer
which still produces the one document

I hope I have mad myself clear.

I would like to take your formatting and apply to the native engine iTextSharp which give me more flexibilty when creating multiple output from different sources.

You can add textual information into a report by using events:
https://pdfreport.svn.codeplex.com/svn/Samples/PdfReportSamples/Events/
Take a look at its events.MainTableCreated and events.MainTableAdded to add your Section One Heading.
Then merge this report with other reports (which have another events.MainTableCreated to add Section two or 3 or 4) like this:
